Wellness Examinations

At Agape Pet Clinic we realize that not all pets are the same and therefore, not all wellness plans are the same. Through regular physical exam visits we tailor a wellness plan to specifically fit the needs of your pet. In order for your pet to have a long and happy life, we also offer routine heartworm and parasite screenings, vaccinations, customized dietary recommendations, blood and urine screenings, and dental health checks.

Dentistry

Oral health is important for the entire body. A clean, healthy mouth really does mean a healthier, longer life when it comes to your pet. Routine dental screenings are done at each visit to determine the best mode of dental care for your pet. Periodontal disease can cause problems with internal organs such as the heart, liver and kidneys. We believe in prevention of periodontal disease and gum disease with daily teeth brushing, OraVet plaque prevention gel, and regular teeth cleanings.

Hospital Care

In the event that your pet becomes ill and requires hospitalization, Dr. Rose is committed to personally oversee and administer all of the care, medications, treatment, fluid therapy and patient examinations during their stay with us. We will update you frequently with detailed progress reports on how your loved one is doing. We are available to answer any questions and concerns that may arise during the course of treatment. It is our goal to compassionately care for your pet and communicate our professional recommendations to you. If we determine that your pet's illness requires more specialized care, we may recommend a board certified colleague that specializes in your pet's particular illness.

Digital Radiography

Our state-of-the-art digital x-ray system allows for faster, high quality images. We can view the x-ray of your pet within 6 seconds of taking the image. This reduces the stress on your pet and allows us to make the diagnosis more rapidly. Whether you have a small cat, Chihuahua or St. Bernard, our system will produce a quality image of both bone and soft tissue.
X-rays aren’t just for emergencies and broken bones. Radiographs are a great diagnostic tool for heart disease, lung disease, liver disease, urinary bladder stones and abdominal issues.

Bloodwork and Laboratory Testing

Many times a diagnosis requires that a sample be taken and analyzed. Depending on the test, this analysis is done either in house or sent out to a laboratory. We use a local laboratory for outside labs that allows us to get the test results before the end of the day. This provides for a faster diagnosis so that treatment can begin at the earliest moment possible.
Many routine labs, such as intestinal parasite examinations, urinalysis, feline leukemia testing and heartworm testing, take only minutes allowing for faster results and shorter appointment times.

Surgery and Anesthesia

We are able to perform most surgical procedures that your pet may require in its lifetime. For occasional special procedures, we can also refer you to a board certified specialist in the Oklahoma City area.
Your pet is important to us and we understand the risks that go along with surgery and anesthesia. We carefully monitor your pet while under anesthesia during all procedures. We recommend the use of intravenous fluids to maintain your pet’s hydration status and blood pressure. This also provides an IV access point for emergency medications should they be needed. Your pet will be closely monitored in recovery as well on special warming blankets to keep them warm and comfortable as they recover from their procedures.

Microchipping and Microchip Registration

There's no doubting that Microchips save lives! It takes only minutes to provide you with the security that your pet will always have identification. Without identification, 90% of lost pets never return home. With only a small injection, your pet can be protected for a lifetime. We use a 134.2 kHz microchip with antimigration technology. We also have a universal scanner and are able to scan microchips of all brands and frequencies for proper identification of your pet. Click HERE to learn more.

Therapeutic Laser Treatments

The therapy laser can be used to provide pain relief, faster healing and
dramatically reduce inflammation in many areas of veterinary medicine.
